Pine Needles and Mid Pines revamped their menus a couple of months ago, and we think you'll like what you see! We've held on to some of the old classics (like the Bell Burger) and we added some new goodies that may become your new favorites. There's nothing like some good old fashioned BBQ Ribs! These ribs are BBQ Braised and Char Grilled to perfection. Top it off with a side of coleslaw and sweet potato fries and you'll have yourself the perfect southern dinner.

Whether you have them as an appetizer or as your meal, the Crispy Sweet and Spicy Shrimp are to die for. Served with pickled cabbage and a sriracha dipping sauce, this dish will have your mouth watering for more.

July is quickly approaching and for us that means the 2014 Youth Golfari is almost here! We are so excited to introduce kids and teens of all ages and skill levels to the superior golf instruction at Pine Needles and Mid Pines. We are one of the first ever junior golf camps in America and we are proud of what our Golfari program is today.

Your children will spend the week learning from some of the top professionals in the world, including Pat McGowan, former PGA Touring Professional and Donna Andrews, former LPGA Touring Professional and six-time winner on the LPGA Tour. Of course we can't forget about Mrs. Peggy Kirk Bell who will be there to share some tips and ensure everyone is having fun!

From the moment your kids drop off their clubs, our caring and friendly staff will handle your child's ever need.

USGA Women's Open Reunion of Champions

On Wednesday, June 17 Pine Needles had the pleasure of hosting the USGA Women's Open Reunion of Champions. The ladies started their day with a round of golf on the Pine Needles course, and finished at a luncheon with Peggy Kirk Bell. It was a fun day filled with laughs, reminiscing, and heartfelt moments as the women spoke about their experiences on tour and as members of the LPGA.

Women Champions included: Alison Nicholas, Liselotte Neumann, Jane Geddes, Pat Bradley, Susie Berning, Carol Mann, Hilary Lunke, Lauri Merten, and Catherine LaCoste.

• The First U.S. Open was held on October 4th, 1895 at Newport Golf Club

• There were 16 consecutive international champions from the U.S. Open's inception in 1895 to 1910, until John McDermott became the first American winner

• The worst single hole score in a U.S. Open belongs to Ray Ainsley in 1938. It started when he hit his ball into the creek on the par-4 16th at Cherry Hills C.C. He kept swinging while his ball floated down the stream, and by the time his ball was safely in the hole, he had posted a whopping 19.
