To help us combat these next several days of extra heat and sun intensity we are testing out a new method by applying a turf screen on our bent grass greens. Similar to applying sunscreen, it helps block harmful solar and UV radiation to the grass. By reflecting heat producing infrared radiation, it will keep the soil and plant 7-12 degrees cooler. We are excited to test out this product, as several universities are testing it now to document how effective this material works. I've talked to several other Superintendents who are using this product and they are seeing good results. These next few days will be a great test for this product and how it will help out our greens!
